FIVE-DAY PAINTING RETREAT IN THE FERTŐ-HANSÁG REGION

“Behind the reeds – moorland lights” between 10 and 15 Octobr at our Lifestyle Hotel

There is a landscape on the edge of Hungary where water and sky meet. Where morning mist settles over the reeds, flocks of birds move silently and every ray of light takes on a different color.

Our five-day retreat is inspired by this unique world, set in the picturesque surroundings of the Fertő–Hanság region, at Tornácos Lifestyle Hotel. This is not a traditional painting camp. Nor is it a series of technical exercises.

Beyond painting techniques, it is about attention, the painter’s way of seeing, and how we connect to the atmosphere of a landscape — and, through it, to ourselves. It is a shared creative journey through nature, light, silence, and inner imagery.

During the five days, each day focuses on a different theme:

  • hidden landscapes and endless reed fields
  • reflections on water and meditative painting
  • the mythical, dreamlike world of the Hanság region
  • dawns and twilight lights
  • movement, flocks of birds, and free gestures

Painting outdoors, tuning into the rhythm of the landscape, experimenting with texture, light, atmosphere, and one’s own visual language.

The camp is open to both beginners and advanced participants from the age of 14.
Perfect technique is not the priority — presence, curiosity, and the joy of creating are what truly matter.

What you can expect:

  • plein air painting in unique locations
  • inspiring professional guidance
  • meditative and expressive creative exercises
  • sunrise and sunset painting sessions
  • slowing down close to nature
  • a supportive small-group community
  • closing exhibition
