Wir haben 3 Nächte im Hotel verbracht. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer ist rustikal und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Es gibt eine Zwischentür zwischen Zimmer und Flur. Leider klemmte diese. Im Bad gab es leider keine Möglichkeit der Verdunkelung.
Das Frühstücksbüffet war sehr gut und umfangreich. Es gab immer viel Gemüse und Salat zum Frühstück.
An zwei Abenden hatten wir Büffet. Leider kam das Personal mit dem Auffüllen der Speisen nicht nach, man hatte das Gefühl, sich immer nur von den Resten bedienen zu können. Manche Speisen sahen auch nicht besonders frisch aus.
Am letzten Abend hatten wir dann Auswahl aus der Menükarte. Das Essen wurde schnell serviert und war schmackhaft.
Den kleinen Wellnessbereich haben wir uns angesehen, aber da wir das nebenan gelegene Thermalbad genutzt haben, haben wir den Wellnessbereich nicht in Anspruch genommen.
Man kann sich Fahrräder ausleihen. Man sollte diese vor Ort gleich mit den ausgelegten Werkzeugen auf die eigene Körpergröße einstellen.
Wenn wir nochmals auf der Durchreise von Ungarn nach Deutschland sind, kommen wir vielleicht mal wieder.

Our family business, Hotel and Restaurant Tornácos is located in the beautiful village of Hegykő, in the southern reeds of Lake Fertő, part of the world heritage.
Our neighborhood is a true paradise for cycling enthusiasts. Anyone who joins the cycle path leading directly past Hotel Tornácos can take a bike trip around Lake Fertő on the designated bike roads. The total circle is about 120 kilometers, which can even be accomplished in one single day.

When we arrive at a restaurant as guests, we usually only see the final result: the meals, the service and the atmosphere. Those few hours that are about relaxation for us. Meanwhile, in the background, a constantly operating, living system is at work – with people, flavors, situations and stories.
Upon visiting our restaurant, Guests usually encounter only the already composed dishes: the flavors, the presentation, the experience. Yet behind every meal, there is a mindset, an approach and teamwork that are less visible.
In recent years, an interesting phenomenon can be observed – not only in gastronomy, but in almost every aspect of our life. In films, old stories are being reinterpreted, in music, earlier sounds are having a comeback, and in literature, well-known classics are resurfacing, even on the big screen – completing the cycle over and over again. And something very similar is happening in the world of pastry flavors as well.
At Tornácos, just like at other accommodations, many things seem natural: cleanliness, order and calm. And that’s exactly how it should be. However, behind all this lies the same consistent work every single day. We discussed this with our colleague Zita, who has been strengthening our team as a housekeeper for two years.
On 19 April we had the chance to be part of a truly special and uplifting day in Hegykő, at 'Mariska Néni’s House', where the program of Family Day at the 'Chip-Chup' Wonder Garden invited families to play and explore. It was a particular pleasure for Restaurant Tornácos not only to support the event, but also to contribute by providing food and drinks to this nature-centered, community experience.

Thanks to the spring sunshine and pleasant weather, a small team from Hotel Tornácos took the opportunity to refresh their knowledge of the sights and curiosities in our surroundings. We did not only enjoy the countless offers of the neighborhood and had a relaxing 'team-building' time together, but we sincerely hope as well that this trip allows us to suggest our Guests even more ideas of free time activities!
After hiking through Fertő-Hanság National Park, Fertőújlak, Sarród, Fertőd, Fertőszéplak and Hegykő and taking a short but relaxing break, we continued our trip in Fertőhomok, a village next to Hegykő.
